Why You're on Customs
Customs is the starting map for most newcomers and one of the most popular maps for veterans. Players come here for quests, PvP practice, and early loot. Medium size, high player density, every corner has its history. Let's break the map down by zones, walk through spawns and extracts, and suggest what to bring.
Quests first. Most starter assignments from Prapor, Therapist, and Skier happen here. Skip Customs and your trader progression stalls at level 3-4.
Loot second. Customs has stable spots for medical items, weapon parts, and rare finds like laptops, GPUs, and tools. Nothing late-wipe legendary, but plenty for early days.
PvP density third. The map is compact, spawn points are close, encounter time is rarely more than two minutes. Ideal for learning sound and reading silhouettes inside buildings.
Map Structure
Customs splits into several nodes, each with its own character.
Dorms — two-story dormitories in the central area. Main PvP magnet because three buildings have key rooms with guaranteed loot. Lead up to roofs through internal stairs; from above the central area is fully visible.
Big Red Factory (Cehkov) — three industrial buildings between Dorms and Industrial Zone. Maze of corridors, loot containers, dark angles. Entering without a flashlight is a guaranteed death.
Industrial Zone (Promka) — open zone with tanks, cranes, small structures. Decent floor loot but few covers — snipers love it.
Old Gas Station — small location with a fuel station and an auto-shop. Less popular but key quest routes pass through.
New Construction (Stronghold) — unfinished building in the south. Floor heights vary, usually packed with Scavs. Dangerous due to many windows and unusual geometry.
Swamp — section north of the map. Average loot, quieter. Bypass routes to extracts go through.
East Dorms / Path / Cliffs — separate zone east of the bridge. Some PMC spawns here and the "Bridge" extract.
Roadside Forest — northern outskirt with trees and a narrow dirt road. Scav spawns, occasional quiet quest paths.
Spawns: Where Players Appear
PMC spawns split into two sides: western (closer to Old Gas Station, Promka, Big Red) and eastern (Stronghold, Cliffs, bridge, roadside forest). Spawn determines your extract direction.
Scav spawns scatter all over the map, with delays, and keep coming throughout the raid. Most active points: Dorms, Big Red, Swamp. South near Stronghold is also dense.
Knowing spawns matters because in the first two minutes you roughly know where the enemy is: opposite side of the map, moving toward center. Running across an open field at this time makes you a target.
Key Buildings
Dorms 3-Story — third dorm. Two locked rooms ("marked rooms with marked key"). Stable loot: weapons, ammo, occasional unique items. Popular spot, often two or three players inside.
Dorms 2-Story — quieter but contains a key checkpoint for one of Prapor's starter quests. Regularly shot through from the 3-story.
Old Gas Station — fuel station and shop. Average loot, but a navigation marker and a junction for western extracts.
Big Red building 3 — most central of the industrials. Marked loot inside; in winter patches Reshala can spawn here, with his guards.
Bridge to Cliffs — small bridge over the river, extract to the eastern side. Choke point, shot from both sides. Whole groups die on this bridge.
Extracts by Direction
East: Bridge (no Scav teammate), ZIL-130 on the path, Trail of Sniper through forest. Used by players spawned on the western side.
South: Factory Reception, RUAF roadblock, Crossroads. Some require keys, some specific conditions (light in bunker, no group, etc.).
North: Smuggler's Boat at swamp, Old Shop — for those moving through northern zones.
West: Through pine forest, Old Gas Station bunker. Less used due to distance.
Main rule: extracts are time-limited, open with delays, close if you didn't make it. Check available extracts before raid — it depends on spawn side.
Bosses and Cultists
Customs has its own boss — Reshala. Spawns at several locations: Big Red, Dorms 3-story, Shed near Dorms. Escorted by two or three guards with automatic weapons.
Reshala has high HP and good armor. Without preparation (proper weapon, armor-piercing rounds, two-three magazines) don't engage. Drops unique loot: keys, quest documents, including a card key that opens a closed lab room on other maps.
Cultists appear at night, mostly in roadside forest. Move in groups, attack with knives, inflict toxic wounds. Daytime players rarely meet them.
Quests on Customs
Prapor: "Storm", "Special Order", "Delivery", "Combat Equipment". All require visiting specific Customs points or extracting items.
Therapist: "Hidden Word", "Healthcare Privacy" — both on Customs.
Skier: "Debt of Honor" — find specific weapon parts in Dorms 3-story.
Most quests require PMC raids (your own gear), not Scav. Light-loadout entries without armor are risky but possible for early attempts.
Tactics by Scenario
Quiet looter. Western spawn entry, perimeter route around Big Red, Promka containers, extract via ZIL or RUAF. Goal — extract five or seven items, no PvP. Survival rate ~40%.
Active PvP. Straight to Dorms via nearest entry. Listen to footsteps, clear corners, loot from kills. Survival 20-30%, but stat progression faster.
Quest raid. Direct route: spawn → quest point → extract. Minimum deviations, no fights without need. Survival 50-60% with route, otherwise 30%.
Scav raid. Random spawn (any), no gear, goal — collect any loot and survive. Good practice for new players to learn the map without risking gear. Survival 35-40%.
Where Cheats Help on Customs
Compact map, limited visibility, contested key points. Two function classes shine here:
ESP / wallhack for seeing through walls in Dorms and Big Red where engagement distance is 5-10 meters. With ESP you know if a room has an enemy before peeking. Chams for basic perception or Sky for full wallhack with spoofer.
Radar. External radar (not client-side) shows player positions on a minimap. Less intrusive for anti-cheat but needs a second screen. RADAR Browser or RADAR SMG.
AIM functions work but are less critical: distances are short, hitting without help is doable. For full kit — Sugar Lite or Sugar Elite with AIM, ESP, spoofer in one. Detail on AIM types in our aimbot article.
Bottom Line
Customs is a map every newcomer studies for the first 20-30 raids. Understanding spawns, key buildings, and extracts saves hours of repeated deaths. Loot is moderate but stable, quests are mandatory, PvP practice is excellent.
